To All It May Concern:
We the Owners of the following Properties are adamantly against the granting of the request to change the zoning to accommodate the building of a Jehovah Witness Kingdom Hall or any church/religious institution, apartment building, commercial enterprise, including hospital, nursing home, assisted living enterprises, and so forth for the property address 19519 Roscoe Blvd. Northridge, California 91324.
On Roscoe Blvd between Shirley Avenue and Melvin Avenue, and between Roscoe Blvd and Parthenia Street, our neighborhood consists of single family homes. For the following reasons, we would like to keep it that way.
1. Changing the zoning would change the character of our neighborhood and lead to increased noise due to their hours of operation from early morning to late evening 7 days a week.
2. The increase in traffic on Shirley A venue, Melvin A venue, Chase Street, and Parthenia Street would create a huge safety risk especially since we have no sidewalks. This is a serious issue for all of us who take walks in the neighborhood, have children and grandchildren who walk to and from school, ride their bikes, walk with friends and go to each other’s homes, take our pets on walks, etc.
3. Our Property Values would significantly decline as confirmed by several real estate agents contacted. We depend on our homes to provide us with a financial safety net for our future needs and our retirement.
4. There has been no change in circumstance to this neighborhood that would jusify any change of zoning. Making a change like this would be inconsistent within the context of this low density neighborhood.
